Auguste is a welcome addition to the Back to Nature Ecotherapy team, bringing a warmth, playfulness, and genuine love of adventure to his work as a nature-based support worker. With a background spanning disability support, outdoor education, and a near-complete Bachelor of Counselling, Auguste is well-placed to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them — quite literally — toward meaningful change.
Auguste’s mission is to help people reach their goals — which is often serious and meaningful work — in a way that is adventurous, fun, and alive. He believes the journey toward growth doesn’t have to be heavy, and that laughter and lightness can coexist with depth and transformation.
Auguste’s career began in disability support in his early twenties before moving into outdoor education, where he spent many years working primarily with adolescents in the field. He is currently completing his final year of a Bachelor of Counselling at Notre Dame University Fremantle, bringing an evolving clinical foundation to his hands-on experience. Auguste is comfortable working with a wide range of clients, though he has a particular passion for supporting young men to flourish.
Auguste’s sessions are collaborative from the outset — he invites clients to shape the plan, trusting that they know best what environments and activities suit them. That said, his natural inclination is toward movement: hiking, biking, and getting outside. He brings a ‘go with the flow’ energy to sessions, holding space for both lightness and depth. He loves to play and to laugh, but he’s equally at home sitting with the more serious stuff. At the heart of his approach is a quiet trust in what nature and experience can provide, when given the room to unfold.
Connection, honesty, vulnerability, bravery, and courage are values Auguste both holds and tries to embody. Clients can expect to be met with someone who is genuinely up for any kind of adventure — internal or external — and who will bring a lightness and sense of fun to that exploration. He shows up fully, and he invites others to do the same.
“The natural world has and always will provide us with what we need, including healing.”
Auguste is driven by movement — hiking, biking, rock climbing, canoeing — and places genuine value on physical and mental wellbeing through exercise, good food, sleep, meditation, breathwork, therapy, and journalling. He loves music and plays guitar (by his own admission, not very well), and is always keen to make or listen to music with others. He has a love of writing and would be happy to incorporate this into sessions where it suits the client. Auguste is also a committed fan of comedy and stand-up, and will almost certainly bring some of his (characteristically bad) jokes along for the ride.
With Auguste as part of the Back to Nature Ecotherapy team, clients can look forward to sessions that are grounded, genuine, and genuinely good fun.
