What is Ecotherapy

We like to say; Ecotherapy is the practice of spending time in nature to reconnect with ourselves and our natural environment.

Ecotherapy is founded on the belief that our connection with nature is deeply rooted in our evolution as humans. This means that the environment around us considerably influences our overall mental and physical health.

Benefits of Ecotherapy

When we immerse ourselves in nature, our whole biology changes and our cells recognise that this is our natural state.

Every research study ever conducted on the effects of humans connecting with their natural environment has shown positive effects on both our physical and mental health.

The research shows that by spending just 120-minutes a week in nature we are:

  • Reducing symptoms of depression
  • Lowering stress and anxiety levels
  • Improving moods and mental clarity
  • Boosting self-esteem
  • Social connections and interactions
  • And improving cognitive function, such as attention and memory

I’ve struggled with anxiety for years and never thought I’d find something that helps me feel calm. Being outside and talking to people has definitely helped me and made me stronger.
