Liz is a valued member of the Back to Nature Ecotherapy team, bringing a calm, compassionate presence and a deep connection to nature and animals into her work.
A calm, compassionate and nature-connected approach to supporting people through life’s challenges.
With over 15 years’ experience across counselling, community and acute mental health settings, Liz supports people through complex life challenges with care, curiosity and genuine respect. Her approach is grounded, human, and focused on creating a space where people feel safe to be themselves and take things one step at a time.
Liz’s goal is to support people to reconnect with themselves, identify what they truly want from life, and begin taking meaningful steps toward it.
Supporting people to reconnect with themselves and move towards the life they want to live.
She understands that fear can often hold people back, and believes in working with both the mind and body to create change. Through building awareness, emotional regulation skills, and connection to nature, Liz supports clients to move forward in a way that feels safe, steady and sustainable.
Liz is an accredited Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers, bringing extensive experience across a range of mental health settings.
Her background includes counselling with Helping Minds (Arafmi), community mental health for both adults and young people, acute mental health at Graylands Hospital, and the Hospital in the Home program at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She has also worked within the NDIS as a Recovery Coach and Support Coordinator, strengthening her understanding of complex psychosocial needs.
Liz has a strong passion for supporting individuals aged 15+ who have experienced trauma, including adverse childhood experiences (ACE), domestic violence, and complex PTSD. She enjoys working with both men and women navigating complex life situations, offering steady and supportive guidance.
Liz’s approach is grounded in the belief of taking things one step at a time.
“One step at a time.”
She works alongside people as individuals — not as diagnoses or numbers — and believes that no one needs to be “fixed”. Instead, she supports clients to reconnect with their own inner strengths and find the answers that already exist within them.
Her sessions offer a safe, calm and non-judgemental space where clients can bring their thoughts, emotions and experiences without pressure or expectation.
A safe, calm and non-judgemental space where you can show up exactly as you are.
Liz works in a trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based way, with a strong focus on building trust, safety and connection.
She also brings a unique passion for working with animals, particularly horses, and where appropriate, incorporates equine-assisted therapy to support regulation, connection and healing. Nature, animals and connection play a powerful role in her work.
Honesty, integrity, respect, safety and trust sit at the core of Liz’s work.
Clients can expect to be met with a calm, compassionate and supportive presence. Liz brings curiosity, creativity and a genuine sense of care into her sessions, along with a gentle sense of humour. She is grounded, approachable and focused on creating an environment where people feel comfortable, heard and understood.
“People don’t need to be fixed — they already hold the answers within themselves. Sometimes they just need the right support to find them.”
Liz feels most connected when she is spending time in nature — bushwalking, camping, swimming in the ocean and being outdoors.
She has a deep love for horses and animals (alongside her cats), and a strong interest in animal-assisted and equine-assisted therapy. Liz also enjoys travelling, learning about different cultures and languages, cooking, and has a meaningful appreciation for Aboriginal culture and the history of the land.
Liz also engages in ongoing professional development in focused psychological strategies, sensorimotor psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
With Liz as part of the Back to Nature Ecotherapy team, clients can expect sessions that feel safe, grounded and genuinely supportive — with nature, connection and compassion at the heart of the work.
