Martin Phillips

           

Martin is an experienced percussionist and rhythm-based events organiser, now serving the Back to Nature Ecotherapy community as a dedicated Nature-based Support Worker. With over 25 years of experience in percussion and seven years of supporting individuals in mental health and disability, Martin brings a unique blend of creativity and compassion to his role. He is committed to utilising nature as a healing tool to empower individuals and reconnect them with the natural world.

Martin believes that re-wilding ourselves and our culture with renewed and invigorated contact and immersion in the natural world is crucial to our journey as human beings.

Experience and Specialisation:

With over 25 years of experience as a percussionist and rhythm-based events organiser, Martin brings a unique perspective to his work. He also has seven years of experience as an individual support worker for mental health and disability, offering valuable insight and support to those in need.

Martin’s approach is warm, patient, and friendly. He utilises active listening and drumming as tools to connect and help individuals feel whole.

Values & Qualities:

Martin values freedom and individuality, holding space for the struggles of the marginalised to be heard. He believes in the importance of a strong empathetic community for liberation and resilience.

Personal Interests:

Outside of his professional pursuits, Martin enjoys parenting his three teenage sons and running his self-employed business, Rhythm Fix. He is dedicated to developing his skills as a better man and is committed to a vegan lifestyle for his health, the animals, and the earth.

Goal/Mission:

Martin’s personal mission is to help create a community of belonging and compassion, where individuals feel supported and valued.

Qualifications & Training:

Martin holds a Working with Children Check, NDIS screening, and police check, ensuring a safe environment for his work. He is also certified in Senior First Aid and is currently finishing his Certificate 3 in Individual Support (Disabilities). Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Fine Art and has experience in Photoshop, electronic music production, gaming, and cooking.
