Shelley Jordans

Shelley is an experienced support worker whose work is informed by a diverse range of experiences, including her passion for gardening and crafts, her love of bushwalking, and her expertise in ITA energy medicine, yoga, and Bowen therapy, making her a valuable addition to the Back to Nature Ecotherapy team.

Approach:

Shelley believes in the therapeutic benefits of nature and the importance of a holistic approach to well-being. Her approach incorporates breathwork and mindfulness techniques, instilling a sense of calm in her clients. She further enhances her therapy sessions through energy medicine techniques, creating a holistic and balanced approach to therapy that fosters healing and relaxation, helping her clients regulate their nervous systems, reduce stress, and connect with their inner selves.

Values & Qualities:

Shelley’s values and personal qualities are evident in the way she interacts with her clients. She provides a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard and validated. She is fully present with them, giving them her undivided attention. Her active listening skills enable Shelley to truly understand her clients’ concerns, needs, and aspirations, and her empathetic approach helps them feel supported on a profound level. Shelley’s sense of humour and positive outlook can lighten the mood when appropriate, making therapy sessions more enjoyable and relieving tension.

Interests:

Beyond her therapeutic work, Shelley is an avid gardener who enjoys assisting people in growing vegetables and other plants in their gardens. She also finds joy in crafting, engaging in activities such as crochet, pottery, and creating decorative items from collected natural materials. Her passion for bushwalking aligns with a nature-based approach to therapy, offering clients opportunities for outdoor exploration and mindfulness in natural settings. Furthermore, she loves yoga, meditation, and dance, incorporating these interests into her holistic approach to well-being.

Clients working with Shelley can expect a therapeutic experience guided towards healing and personal growth, while also being supported emotionally, mentally, and spiritually throughout their journey. 

 

Qualifications training 

  • Holds all relevant and current NDIS qualifications completed in her role as a disability support worker at Ignite Community Network
  • Qualified Yoga Teacher. Completed training with FINY Yoga School, 2009 
  • Qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. Completed studies in 1999 at In Harmony School of Natural Therapies 
  • Certified level 3 ITA Energy Medicine Practitioner from the Institute of Applied Consciousness, 2006 
  • Completed 4 levels of Bowen Therapy with Facial Kinetics, 2010
